We all know that water is a healthier choice than sugary drinks. What does it take to support that choice? This webinar will look at key elements to enable drinking water: its safety, access, education and promotion, and policy. Most of the presentation will focus on tap water safety: concerns and responses; particularly lead in tap water. The webinar will include information on resources and action steps, as well as Q & A time.

Presenter
Christina Hecht is a Senior Policy Advisor at the University of California Nutrition Policy Institute. Her primary focus is on healthy beverages; she leads NPI’s work in drinking water safety, access, promotion, and policy. She is a co-investigator in current research on drinking water and is active in multiple collaborative projects. She coordinates the National Drinking Water Alliance, a network of individuals and organizations across the country working to ensure that all children in the US can drink water in the places where they live, learn, and play. She is also a founding member of the UC Research Consortium on Beverages and Health. Christina earned a BA at Stanford University and a PhD at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.
