Drs. Emma Steinberg and Kim Newell Green (CPF Cohort 3) have successfully partnered to advance food as medicine initiatives statewide, including advocating for the inclusion of medically-tailored food and nutrition interventions as a covered health benefit in the CalAIM waiver. Together, they have developed a diverse coalition of stakeholders and leveraged their clinical expertise to inform effective policy and systems changes. Along the way, Drs. Steinberg and Newell Green have learned many strategies for how to build productive, cross-sector partnerships.
